Small Scale Integration Project
INTERSOS, in partnership with local organizations, implements a holistic pilot program based on the combination of language education and vocational training for refugees and asylum seekers.
It is a fact, commonly acknowledged, that access to labour market is crucial in the integration process of refugees and asylum seekers in Greece.
Access to the labour market apart from ensuring the self-sufficiency and self-dependence of the refugees and asylum seekers, supports them to meet their economic needs, channels their creativity and supports their interaction and integration with the local community. Research clearly shows that the impact of Vocational Education and Training for asylum seekers and refugees is a clear pathway towards integration.
INTERSOS, in cooperation with local organizations, implement a holistic pilot program based on the combination of language education and vocational training for refugees and asylum seekers. Part of the programme includes an intensive language learning course. Moreover, this programme will include a series of educational visits to small and large enterprises and companies in the area.
Our aim is to support the participants in multiple ways as they will have the opportunity practice their language skills, get to know the local labour market, socialise, learn new professional techniques and skills, and work towards integrating in the local community.
