Programme context

The HELIOS+ programme aims to support the integration of third country nationals, beneficiaries of International Protection and beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in Greece, through a holistic approach that integrates their access to education, the labour market and vocational training and is implemented in the framework of the National Strategy for Social Integration of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.

  • The programme will be implemented in the Region of Thessaly, by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the contribution of INTERSOS Hellas and the Municipality of Larissa. In particular, HELIOS+ will include actions such as:
  • Strengthening and facilitating access to the labour market through job counselling
  • Strengthening the ability of the beneficiaries to live independently through the learning of the Greek language.
  • Supporting beneficiaries during the stages of the integration process and promoting their interaction with local communities and their autonomous access to social and public services.
  • Strengthening independent living through the provision of housing support.
  • Raising awareness among host communities and stakeholders for the social and labour integration of beneficiaries.

Scope of Work:

The Inclusion and Social Cohesion Support Officer is actively involved in the implementation of the project’s actions, providing support services to ensure the smooth management and execution of activities. At the same time, he/she contributes to the technical implementation of accounting and financial procedures related to human resources, ensuring the effective management of financial resources in accordance with organisational procedures and standards.

Main Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Head of Implementation and Administrative Management of Inclusion and Social Cohesion Actions and the Head of Implementation and Financial Management of Inclusion and Social Cohesion Actions, the responsibilities of the Inclusion and Social Cohesion Implementation Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the implementation of the project actions through the provision of management support services.
  • Manage and process payments to suppliers, ensuring compliance with organisational procedures.
  • Ensure strict control of documentation for all financial and accounting activities.
  • Support in the management of financial and human resources, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the use of available budgets.
  • Collaboration with the other project teams for the effective interconnection of accounting and operational processes.
  • Collection of supporting documents for the preparation of reports.
  • Monitoring and updating personnel files (licenses, timesheets, contracts, certificates)
  • Support, implementation, renewal of human resources processes

Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

  • Higher education degree in Business Administration/Finance/Human Resources or related field
  • A relevant postgraduate degree or specialisation will be considered an additional qualification
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the management of financial and HR processes in the humanitarian sector/NGO
  • Ability to manage payments and control documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken knowledge of Greek and English
  • Excellent knowledge of computer use
