Responsibilities & Tasks
Project objective
The aim of the project is to support the integration into the labor market of beneficiaries of international protection, temporary protection status holders, and asylum seekers (hereafter “the beneficiaries”) residing in Epirus, and apartments within the broader urban center of Ioannina.
The main objectives of the project activities are to support beneficiaries in obtaining the tools and relevant resources needed for setting specific work goals; target professional occupations of personal interest and match them according to their profile; help beneficiaries acquire independence and self-reliance to look for an ideal professional occupation; support them to identify vocational training opportunities; support them to access national social solidarity schemes and financial inclusion projects.
Purpose/objective of the position
The Project officer is responsible for the management of the project and for its implementation process ensuring the achievement of its objectives and results.
Reporting to:
Senior Program Manager
Duties:
- Ensure that the project reaches the high quality of performance in the region of competence, through the implementation of the organization’s tools and approaches
- Support the senior project manager in preparing, managing, and regularly updating the project activities work plan and related financial plan, ensuring timely and quality implementation in compliance with the defined project strategy as well as the donor guidelines.
- Undertake regular field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitor the progress of project activities.
- Coordinates with logistics, administration, and finance units to procure all equipment, supplies b and materials required to implement the project activities, ensuring cost efficiency and accountability in compliance with organization and donor regulations and procedures.
- Support the senior project manager in preparing periodic project narrative and financial reports as well as other ad hoc reports, according to donor requirements
- Addressing hiring needs of the area of operation
- Managing project staff and promoting role-positioning, education, training, growth and assumption of responsibility.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic
- Ability to delegate and work in a team
Professional Experience and Education
- Experience (3 years minimum) working in a complex context is required
- Experience working in the Humanitarian context is an asset
- Strong Experience in Project Cycle Management
- Demonstrated experience in managing large team
- Knowledge of proposal development
- University degree at master’s level in relevant sectors and fields or demonstrated program management experience
- Excellent written and spoken Greek and English are essential
- Good computing skills
