INTERSOS Hellas during 2019 provided 1.683 accommodation places in Ioannina and Thessaloniki. Offered under the UNHCR accommodation scheme all places are managed within the standards defined by the overall program. Accommodation is arranged in blocks and single units around the cities of Ioannina and Thessaloniki. The majority of persons accommodated within the INTERSOS program have specific needs that require follow up until transition to renewed independent living in a new location.<\/span><\/p>\n

Operating with the aim of ensuring dignified living conditions also implies provision of protection solutions for individuals and families. Holistic assistance thus includes case management, mental Health and Psycho-social support activities (organized directly or supported access) and referrals to specialized services with a focus on access to lifelong learning opportunities and other means of self-reliance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The accommodation team provides accompaniment to various services with the objective of ensuring orientation and accustomisation to the new environment. Trouble shooting and regular day to day support is carried out within a framework of transition to restored self-reliance.<\/span><\/p>\n
