Programme context<\/strong><\/p>\n

The HELIOS+ programme aims to support the integration of third country nationals, beneficiaries of International Protection and beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in Greece, through a holistic approach that integrates their access to education, the labour market and vocational training and is implemented in the framework of the National Strategy for Social Integration of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.<\/p>\n

The programme will be implemented in the Region of Thessaly, by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the contribution of INTERSOS Hellas and the Municipality of Larissa. In particular, HELIOS+ will include actions such as:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Strengthening and facilitating access to the labour market through job counselling<\/li>\n
  • Strengthening the ability of the beneficiaries to live independently through the learning of the Greek language.<\/li>\n
  • Supporting beneficiaries during the stages of the integration process and promoting their interaction with local communities and their autonomous access to social and public services.<\/li>\n
  • Strengthening independent living through the provision of housing support.<\/li>\n
  • Raising awareness among host communities and stakeholders for the social and labour integration of beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Scope of Work:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Cultural Mediator – Interpreter supports communication and understanding between beneficiaries and local actors by providing interpretation and cultural mediation services.<\/p>\n

    Main Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Under the supervision of the Social Inclusion Officer, the responsibilities of the Cultural Ombudsman – Interpreter include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Provision of interpretation services to facilitate communication between beneficiaries and local actors during the implementation of sub-project activities.<\/li>\n
    • Mediation to understand cultural differences, promoting mutual understanding and respect.<\/li>\n
    • Supporting beneficiaries to access health, education, social welfare and other public services.<\/li>\n
    • Provide guidance to the institutions on the cultural specificities and needs of the beneficiaries.<\/li>\n
    • Work with the project team to improve integration and support services.<\/li>\n
    • Monitoring and reporting challenges arising from cultural or linguistic differences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Excellent knowledge of Arabic and\/or French and Greek or English. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.<\/li>\n
      • At least one (1) year of experience in relevant work with vulnerable groups in the humanitarian sector\/NGOs<\/li>\n
      • Understanding of the cultural specificities of the beneficiaries and ability to manage cultural differences.<\/li>\n
      • Experience in interpretation and cultural mediation.<\/li>\n
      • Excellent communication skills.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work with a variety of groups and stakeholders.<\/li>\n
      • Organisational skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n
      • Previous experience in humanitarian or social inclusion projects.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of local public services and access procedures.<\/li>\n
      • Good knowledge of computer operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
