Having survived dangerous journeys in search of safety in Europe, they have been trapped on the Islands for years, exacerbating feelings of insecurity, loneliness and hopelessness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order to address this gap, in early 2021, INTERSOS established a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support intervention aimed at providing comprehensive psychosocial care to vulnerable women and to enhance the general mental health response.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Currently, INTERSOS MHPSS \u00a02022 intervention targets women and men who belong to vulnerable groups presenting signs or psychological distress, particularly those who have survived gender-based violence and\/or are the sole or primary caregivers of a dependent family member.<\/p>\n<p>The MHPSS INTERSOS Team, composed of psychologists, Case Managers and cultural mediators. The aim of the intervention, in the frame of full case management support, is to provide comprehensive psychosocial care to the persons, through individual and group sessions along with high-quality referrals of the beneficiaries to other services and support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Cultural Mediator supports the implementation of the Communication with Communities Strategy of INTERSOS, ensuring a Community-based approach is adopted. As an expert in 2 or more language groups the person is responsible for both translating where necessary and offering cultural mediation support where necessary. While the duality of the role is challenging, INTERSOS sees this role as a key part of mainstreaming community-based responses, engaging beneficiaries and providing culturally sensitive services to the beneficiaries it hosts in languages they can understand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific CM tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in the implementation of any activity connected to the project at hand where liaison with beneficiaries is concerned<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Interpret during MHPSS individual and group sessions or psychoeducational activities supporting the psychologists and the Case Workers<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support the communication among the staff and the beneficiaries including phone or written methods<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commit to the implementation of activities are per scheduling provided by MHPSS team leader or PM.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Translate and mediate between the beneficiaries and other project staff<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assume the duty of protecting confidential information about the beneficiaries to ensure every person\u2019s confidentiality and privacy is respected.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support in Communicating with Communities, mobilizing communities and the implementation of feedback mechanisms and other initiatives oriented to beneficiaries accountability planned by INTERSOS.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide feedback to and recommendations on interactions with beneficiaries<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Contribute to the creation of information materials and the translation of relevant documentation if needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To provide on weekly basis the updated requirements to the Protection Officer<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Perform any other tasks as may be requested or required by the job<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Requirements<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per main duties outlined above the Cultural Mediator will:<\/p>\n<p>Attend weekly\/biweekly meetings together with other Colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Attend General Meetings<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Past experience and skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Excellent verbal and good written knowledge of Farsi, Dari.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; English: good verbal skills (required) and good written skills (required).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Arabic or French will be considerate an asset<\/p>\n<p>-Professional or volunteer experience in a related position<\/p>\n<p>-Previous experience with local or international NGOs will be considered an asset.<\/p>\n<p>-Good computer literacy.<\/p>\n<p>-Training or courses in GBV will be considered an asset.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, if you are asylum-seeker please note that , following regulations, \u00a0you should be in the process\u00a0 or have a valid ID.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you wish to apply for the above position, please submit your CV along with a Cover Letter in English quoting reference code <strong>\u201cCultural Mediator Farsi<\/strong>\u201d in the subject line of the e-mail at: <a href=\"mailto:jobs@intersos.gr\">jobs@intersos.gr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All applications will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
